Welcome to Rocky Hill Elementary Schools "One Book, One Community" Blog!

Welcome to our "One Book, One Community" blog! During the month of March, our elementary schools will be embarking on a special project, a cross district all school book club called "One Book, One Community." A single chapter book has been chosen, and every student in the Rocky Hill elementary schools will be receiving a copy! Each family is asked to read the book at home throughout the month of March, and activities at school will also be occurring to promote and enrich this shared reading experience. In school, students will be invited to answer daily trivia questions and the district is also partnering with Cora J. Belden to offer various activities at the local library. During the month of March, we want everyone to be talking about our One Book!

To celebrate "Read Across America Day," on March 3rd, our One Book selection will be unveiled! Each student will receive his/her copy of the book at a special school-wide assembly introducing the program and the book.

This website will serve as a communication resource throughout our One Book program. A variety of discussion questions will be posted here to promote conversation and deeper thinking around our readings. To respond to a question, simply click on "Comment" below the blog post. Remember, it is never a good idea to give out your full name online, so please use your first name only or initials when posting. All comments will be moderated.

We look forward to discussing the book together!
