Welcome Back to the Second Annual One Book One Community Literacy Program!

Welcome back to our "One Book, One Community" blog! During the month of March, our elementary schools will be embarking on a special project, a cross district community book club called "One Book, One Community." Each family is asked to read the book at home throughout the month of March, and activities at school will also be occurring to promote and enrich this shared reading experience. In school, students will be invited to answer daily trivia questions and the district is also partnering with Cora J. Belden to offer various activities at the local library. During the month of March, we want everyone to be talking about our One Book!

Today, to celebrate "Read Across America Day," our One Book selection was unveiled!

Drum roll please...

Each student received his/her copy today of the book at a special school-wide assembly introducing the program and the book.

This website will again serve as a communication resource throughout our One Book program. A variety of discussion questions will be posted here to promote conversation and deeper thinking around our readings. To respond to a question, simply click on "Comment" below the blog post. Remember, it is never a good idea to give out your full name online, so please use your first name only or initials when posting. All comments will be moderated.

We look forward to discussing the book together!
